Course Overview

This course is aimed at the candidate wishing to retrain or the student wishing to progress on from the Diploma Level 1. You will attend 3/4 days per week. The students will study towards the Diploma Level 2 in one of the main trades. They are as follows Brickwork Carpentry Painting and Decorating Plastering The course involves training in a wide range of activities including:Store Materials and Equipment Erect and Dismantle Basic Working Platforms Work Efficiently Health and safety Construction technology. You will study a number of trade specific subjects Key skills.

Entry Requirements

If you are unemployed or wishing to retrain with an interest in the work and good hand to eye co-ordination or you have completed the Diploma level 1 course in a particular trade. You will be interviewed and asked to undertake a dexterity test. Most students will progress to here from the Diploma Level 2 course. Adults with experience of working in construction can also apply.

Special Notes

 You will need to wear suitable clothes and a pair of steel toe capped boots or shoes.

Course Leads To

 Successful students will be able to upgrade their Diploma level 2 to a full NVQ upon getting appropriate employment and being able to provide a portfolio of work experience evidence gathered from the work place.
